The town of Loceri is located among the green hills of Ogliastra, a few kilometers from the slopes of Gennargentu and at an altitude of 206 meters above sea level. Its territory, where the peaks of Monte Cuccu and Monte Tarè stand out, is rich in springs and extends east towards a valley that slopes down to the beach of Cea, known for its famous red porphyry stacks. Further south you can admire the pink granite cliffs and the embroidered crests of the coastal massif of Monte Ferru, while inland we find the unmissable landscape of the Tacchi, beautiful Dolomite caves considered true geological and archaeological treasures. The Ethnographic Museum Sa Domu de s'Olia and the Museum Vecchi Frantoi house two ancient olive mills, witnesses to an agricultural vocation and an olive-growing heritage of thousand-year-old trees. The most interesting events that take place in Loceri are linked to a deep-rooted religious tradition; in the months of May and October, San Bachisio, the protector of rain, is celebrated with a procession in which the faithful cross the river carrying the simulacrum of the saint.
